Taking invisibility to the next level!

Physicists have already unveiled invisibility cloaks that can hide objects from light, sound, seismic and even water waves. Now researchers report a cloak that can hide objects from static magnetic fields. This 'antimagnet' could have medical applications, but might also subvert airport security.

In a study where they followed patients for several years they found drastic reduced risk for several cancers indicating that maybe an aspirin a day could be used as a prevention drug. Most likely the aspirin is active at early stage of cancer as the best improvement is only found after 5 years of low daily aspirin intake.

"In The Lancet, Peter Rothwell and colleagues1 report additional data supporting the hope that daily aspirin can ward off a panoply of cancers. Aspirin's role in reducing risk of vascular events is well established, although which risk factor profiles derive net benefit remain controversial.2 The strongest proof of aspirin's antineoplastic effect has been in colorectal tumours. Several epidemiological studies,3 randomised controlled trials of colon polyp recurrence,4 and randomised trials in patients with hereditary colorectal cancer syndromes [5] and [6] have shown that aspirin reduces incidence of colorectal neoplasia. In long-term follow-up of participants in five randomised trials of cardiovascular prevention, Rothwell and colleagues previously reported that daily aspirin at any dose reduced risk of colorectal cancer by 24% and of associated mortality by 35% after a delay of 8–10 years.7"

Not the most recent paper but still a pretty good starting point for deciding what tool you're going to use in your experiment. Also, things like QA and aligning from this paper can be used when working with other sequencing methods.

Fixing mp4 file streaming for ushare on ubuntu is pretty straightforward luckily. For who doesn't know, with ushare you can setup a DLNA on +Ubuntu to stream to your tv/xbox/ps3 – see also the attached link.

Just to share with the world (and to keep as note to myself :-)):

To fix ushare into streaming mp4 files you can easily re-compile a quick and dirty fix into your own binary using the following steps:

apt-get source ushare

In mime.c src directory) delete the line for "mp4" in the list of Audio files and add the following line under videos:

{ "mp4", UPNP_VIDEO, "http-get:*:video/quicktime:"},

Then just follow the ordinary steps:
./configure, make and checkinstall

Just make sure you ./configure with the location with your current configuration settings. After doing this you should be able to stream mp4 files hooray
