Pretty shocking to think about these experiments on humans in the last century but its interesting that he knew this but valued the potential scientific output higher:
"Cutler and his superiors knew that some parts of society would not approve. But they viewed the studies as ethically defensible because they believed that the results would have widespread benefits and help Guatemala to improve its public-health system."

Pretty scary that Interpol helped arresting a journalist in a different country for tweeting negative about Muhammad.

This is the Tweet that got him arrested:
"I have loved things about you and I have hated things about you and there is a lot I don't understand about you … I will not pray for you."

Interesting is that actually the journalist got many death treats after placing this tweet but so-far noone has been arrested for that. So a death treat is freedom of speech but the above tweet is not? Crazy world!

February 12 is almost here, a day better known to many within the scientific community as Darwin Day!

A day in which we celebrate the birth of the man who gave us:

Natural Selection!
The Origin of Species!
The Descent of Man!
Finches!
And one of the most glorious beards in the history of science!
