Absurd tough punishment by +Cambridge University court against student for protesting against changes in educational policies.

Yesterday a Ph.D. student was given a 7 term suspension by the university's court of discipline for reading out a poem at a peaceful protest against David Willets and his higher education policies. The CUSU believe he has been made a scapegoat, and the punishment is out of proportion with the offence (Cambridge university themselves only requested a 1 term suspension). Please sign this petition from CUSU if you agree the suspension is unjust or just alone way to tough.

After all the commotion in the Cambridge Union last week when Dominique Strauss-Kahn came to the Union to talk about economics it might be nice for people to see the actual talk and see that what he says does make sense. He also responds on questions in the audience in the end including 2 about the rape case.

Coca Cola and Pepsi will change the recipe in California because according to new legislation they would have to put a "cancer warning" on their packaging because of the amount of 4-methylimidazole in the drinks. Though both the companies and FDA claim it is nearly impossible to drink the amount of coke to get in the danger zone.

Visualizing Your DNA Genotype Profile in a Blanket

Visualizing Your DNA Genotype Profile in a Blanket
I have encountered a rather ingenious idea in Ben Landau’s blog. You may have read that Mike Cariaso, founder of SNPedia, created a visualization graph with the genotype of my family whereby family members’ genotypes where compared against each other. Visualization patterns where created that compared each chromosome against every other. To show how this actually looks, I have taken from Mike’s tool an image that shows the comparison of 23andMe genotypes from my mom and dad (x and y axis resp…
