Doesn't understand why I'm not allowed to pre-cache the +Google Maps for…

Doesn't understand why I'm not allowed to pre-cache the +Google Maps for the Barcelona area. As there is no difference in fetching it on the fly over 3g then pre-fetching it over a fist wifi I think this is an absolute silly restriction and doesn't help usability nor protects whatever Google is trying to protect. The only clear winner in this case are the telecom companies that can charge me ridiculious amounts for roaming…. #rant  

Anyway, not they almost force me to move to Open Street Maps.

  1. I saw this list of countries that have no availability but it is just baffling me. The data still stays within the App and why would they care if this comes pre-fetched or live when you need it. But I guess there are some silly legal issues with the maps they bought that not allow it to be permanently stored/copied or something like that.

  3. Anyway, now downloaded 300Mb of Open Street data – but will mis the integration Google Maps offers with the favourites and all the rich data that are present on their maps….
